Gayà: "We're feeling good, but the important game is against Sevilla FC"

Valencia CF face the start of the 23.24 season, which kicks off in ten days' time, with the 51st edition of the Trofeu Taronja facing Aston Villa FC in the first match of the pre-season at Mestalla this Saturday.
In the days leading up to the game, the Valencia CF squad made the traditional visit to the Royal Basilica of Our Lady of the Forsaken, where captain José Luis Gayà spoke to the media.
Good feeling
We're feeling good, but we're aware that the important game is the one against Sevilla FC.
Tactical work
It's no use having a good preseason if you don't do well in the season opener. It's important to pick up the coach's concepts, and now we have had more time to work on them than last season.
We're feeling good and we're also looking forward to playing in front of our fans on Saturday in the Trofeo Naranja.
Objective
We've got experience after last year. The objective is obviously the game against Sevilla. We can't look at anything other than that game. We have the mentality of going for the three points in that game and in every game thereafter.
The idea is to improve and to keep growing, and then we'll see. The mentality is to take things game by game and get better.
The squad
It's obvious, and we all know it, that the squad needs to improve a lot. It's true that the kids have shown in preseason that they are ready, but we are all aware that we need signings. We are focused on what we can do, and we hope that the signings come.
